Renting a Sprinter RV

Sprinter RV from Campervan North America

It’s summer road trip time, and you want to rent a Sprinter RV for your travels  – who to call? You could try Sande Cagan’s RV San Francisco – Sande rents RoadTrek RS Adventurous Sprinter-based RVs from Mill Valley, CA. Sande at first was just looking for an RV for herself, but then realized that many others were interested in her new Sprinter RV: “I travel a lot of winding roads; I travel frequently to the snow… I wanted to be able to be in the desert in the morning, and dressed up for a concert in the city in the evening…without the hassle of looking for a gym to shower and change in.  I wanted to be able to leave my home on  a moment’s notice and know I have shelter, water, and a place to cook with me wherever I choose to go throughout the day…a Class B Sprinter van offered the best fuel efficiency and had by far and away, the gentlest environmental footprint of the three classes…This Sprinter van just hits a chord with people who have always dreamt of taking to the road.”

The Sprinter RV was soon sitting in the driveway while she was busy, and she thought, why not rent it out? Very quickly it was rented out for the entire winter. That first Roadtrek led to a few others: “I now manage the rental of a small fleet of Roadtrek RS Adventurous motorhomes and offer custom departures throughout California and Northwestern Nevada.  I think the Roadtrek Sprinters (Adventurous and Agile) offers a better, healthy alternative to people who would never think about RV travel because of the environmentally negative impact.  They can enjoy this beautiful country of ours without feeling that they are doing more damage.  The Adventurous has the state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz 3.0L turbodiesel and an awesome new exhaust system that limits emissions.  It gets a solid 22-23 mpg at 70+ mph.” Check out more details on Sande’s rentals at RVSanFrancisco.com.

Another good option for renting a Sprinter RV is Campervan North America, based in Driggs, Idaho, just outside Yellowstone. Bob Swan offers two models of Sprinter RVs (one type is the Clanhauler Sprinter RV pictured above in Death Valley) and a unique Ford Transit Connect min-camper, the Edelweiss. I wrote about  Campervan North America last summer after we saw their Sprinter camper vans while we were on a trip to Yellowstone in our Sprinter RV. Bob has added three Sprinters to his fleet this past season, and plans on opening another location.

UPDATE, Jan 2012: Campervan North America now has another location in St. George, Utah, near Las Vegas.
